How To Change the Cub Cadet ZT2 Fuel Filter
A fuel filter is a filter in a fuel line that keeps dirt and other particles out of the fuel. Fuel filters serve a vital function in engine fuel systems.

With a reinforced fabricated deck, tougher tires, and a fully adjustable high-back seat with armrests, the Cub Cadet Ultima ZT2 Series of zero turn riders provides you with the ultimate all-around mowing experience. However, if you do not change the fuel filter in your machine regularly you can kiss that ultimate mowing experience goodbye.

There are many benefits to changing the fuel filter in your Cub Cadet. A fuel filter is designed to properly strain the gas before it reaches the carburetor in your lawn mower. Fuel filter replacement is important because it prevents particles from clogging your engine.

Before performing any maintenance on your Cub Cadet Ultima ZT2, refer to your owner’s manual for recommended maintenance and safety information. Maintenance instructions vary by model, so depending on your riding lawn mower model our instructions may vary slightly. Check your owner’s manual to get instructions specific to your model.

Here’s how to change the fuel filter and the Cub Cadet Ultima ZT2 with the Kawasaki FR691V.

Start by placing a couple of rags down on the engine bay to soak up any fuel that you take out. Use a pair of fuel line crimps and put these on so the engine does not leak any fuel out.

Use a pair of pliers to take the fuel line clamps and move them up the fuel line. Give the fuel filter a little twist to bring it loose and do the same thing on top. Then properly dispose of the old fuel filter.

Replace the fuel filter on the filter itself, there is a small arrow that says “flow.” Install the filter with “flow” facing towards the carb. Reinstall the fuel filter and clamps, and make sure you’re properly seeded. Remove the rags, start your machine, and that’s all.
